Dear Friends!!

Greetings from "Surya Veena Adarsh Niketan Trust"  !!

On 19th Aug,2013 I happened to attend this seminar organised by "TIMES OF INDIA" on their invitation at "India International Center" at Lodi Estate,New Delhi celebrating "World Humanitarian Day" and also TOI completing 175 yrs of their establishment into print and digital media.

This seminar comprised of invitees from different reputed NGOs,social activists and Trust who came under the common roof to discuss various humanitarian efforts being put forward to rebuild Uttarakhand in next 1-2yrs timeline.

The 1st panel discussion comprised of Mr.S.D.Sharma-Resident Commissioner(Uttarakhand),Bhaiyyu Maharaj( a spiritual guru & founder of Shri Sadguru Datta Dharmik Evam Paramarthik Trust Indore), Mr.Ganesh Pandey(HPCC).

While Bhaiyyu Maharaj emphasized on the need of philosophical education in parallel to the ongoing scientific and commercial education inorder to improve the emotional quotient of every individual in this world. He compared the culture of India with the rest of the world and highlighted that Indian culture is purely based on emotions which we show to river, trees, stone etc and figure a Unique God out of it whereas we are ourselves turning into stone heart with man becoming the enemy of the other man.He also went ahead and defined religion, karma and dharma in a very precise and clear method.

Mr.S.D.Sharma went ahead in the discussion and focused on the cause of Uttarakhand disaster which was due to cloud burst, environmental crisis and the amount of damage caused in more than 230 villages in UK.He explained about the Master Plan , involvement of NGOs,social activist,CSR funds in rebuilding UK for infrastructural development, cremation of dead bodies etc.

Mr.Ganesh Pandey highlighted about the way his organisation functions as a PSU in the field of hospital construction in the most rural places like Leh/Ladakh within the record time line of 15-30days.How the OPDs have been built for the good care of the patients in these areas.

In the 2nd session, Mrs.Meenakshi Lekhi emphasized on the involvement of all people, leaders, spiritual leaders ,local residents  irrespective of caste, colour, creed and religion to rebuild Uttarakhand. There should be an unbiased method of selecting NGOs for social work on PAN India basis.

Bhargava couple who had migrated from US 10yrs back to give back to the society did share their experience as consultants to HUDCO who looks after housing & sanitation programmes for the slum dwellers in the country. How the government machinery is a failure in payment record, land management and tracking methodologies to deliver the project on time.

Overall, the event laid the roadmap for National unity towards the common cause of development and harmony.

Thanking you in anticipation.
