Dear Friends,
I was watching an interview with Mr.JaiRam Ramesh - Indian Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment and Forests since May 2009.
"He rightly pointed out that current research work done in IIT's are in no way providing the solutions to the exisitng problems of the Indian society and are merely done for getting publised in the international journal.IIT's are known for their quality of students and not for any world class professors."
Films like 3-Idiots and Tare Zameen Par refelects the obsolete mindset of the current Indian educational system and the society which brings huge numbers of enginners from it's numerous colleges on the basis of some fixed thought processes and numbers but cannot bring the NEWTON,Einstein,Ramanujam from within an individual.
Friends, it leaves us with many burning questions to be answered by all of us.
Does our current educational system lacks focus and quality?
Does our educational system demands more private investors?
Should our Corporate houses think of encouraging just a degree or the quality of thinking in the form of innovation?
Is there any drawback with the current mindset of the maximum parents regarding the future of there wards?
